Five lakes are formed by dams on the Salt River; Roosevelt, Apache, Canyon, Saquaro, and Tempe Lakes. Saguaro Lake is the fourth reservoir on the Salt River, formed by the Stewart Mountain Dam. The lake is within the Tonto National Forest off State Route 87 at an elevation of 1,506 feet.
